Complete requests
Requests help you to promptly respond when your firm asks you for additional information. Here, you will learn how client requests work and how you can complete them.
Requests, explained
When your accountant needs additional information or documents, they have several ways to do it. However, sending a request is fastest if your accountant has just a few questions. For example, if you forgot to upload a form or if your accountant is filling out your tax return and needs your answer quickly. Firms can send you requests from chats or independently. You can always find it here:
In Your to-do list section on the portal homepage.
If the request was sent from the chat, you’ll also be able to find it there and quickly grasp the context of the request.
If your notifications are on, you’ll receive an email once the request is sent, If you use the mobile app , you will also get a push notification.
If your firm has enabled it, you will even be able to open the request without logging in to the portal. Ask them to share a link with you if you don’t receive email notifications.
In the Requests section.
Also, there’s a screen where all active, completed and archived requests are collected. You can access them by tapping Requests in the bottom navigation bar.
Respond to requests & submit them
Once you open a request, you see all the questions on one page. Note that some questions may be required (marked with an asterisk), and some may be optional. Once you fill out the required questions, you can click Submit. If you want to change anything after submission, ask your firm to change the request status.
If you click X and close the window, filled-out answers will be auto-saved, but the request will not be submited. You will be able to proceed with the other answers later.
To respond to your accounting firm’s request, tap the name of the request with the Pending or In progress status. Then, answer the prompt questions. You may be asked to provide information (text, date, email, and so on), select an answer, or upload a document. There are different options for uploading documents , including an in-built scanner.
When you provide all the necessary information, tap Submit. You won’t be able to change your answers after that. The request will change the status to Finished.
